Who We Are

 

Maison Chance USA is organized in three major functional areas:


The Executive Branch consists of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.

The duties of the Board of Directors are to establish goals and policies, approve plans and budgets, review and direct the activities of the administrative staff to assure compliance with budgets, goals, policies and plans, and assist in fund raising activities.


The Executive Committee consists of the President, the Vice-President(s), the Secretary and the Treasurer. The duties of the Executive Committee are to supervise, direct and control the daily operations of the organization, and to report to the Board of Directors.


The duties of the Board of Advisors is to provide their expertise and knowledge to the organization as needed and to assist in raising funds and resources to enable Maison-Chance USA to achieve its mission.

President

 

Having the ability to help the less fortunate is a blessing in and of itself. Trung believes that the value of charity exceeds mere actions and outcomes. “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart” – Helen Keller.


Trung is an outdoor and sports enthusiast.  He has competed in, coached, and organized various sports events, and social activities.  In recent years, he has spent most of his time with his lovely family, learning golf, and coaching junior tennis teams in Maryland.


Graduating from the University of Maryland in electrical engineering, where he served as president of the Vietnamese Student Association, Trung continued his graduate studies at George Washington University.  Since then he has held various leadership and management positions in the private sector and U.S. Government.

 

 

cuc_nguyenCuc Nguyen

VP, Membership & East Coast Operation

 

Cuc has more than 15 years of experience as a chemical engineer for various companies. During her time with the DuPont Company, she had served as a co-chairwoman for the DuPont Asian Group, where she had planned, organized and led several seminars and conferences on Asian cultures and issues.

 

Cuc also works actively with many Vietnamese communities in the Philadelphia and Delaware areas. Her most recent involvement includes being in the Organizing Committee for the Maison-Chance fund-raising event in Philadelphia in October 2007.

 

Cuc graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and from Hahnemann Medical College with a B.S. in Nursing.



 

kristin luuKristin Luu

VP - Marketing & Central Region Operation


Kristin Luu has over 15 years of experience in general management, operations, business development, mentoring and training. Most recently, Kristin was the Executive Vice President of a staffing firm. Prior experience includes owning and operating a staffing firm for 13 years, with offices in Chicago and New York, as well as 2 salons for 3 years.

But her most important experience was learned early on from teaching English as a second language in the China, where she participated in a project sponsored by the World Health Organization to teach English to Doctors from China's minority regions.


Kristin graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She currently resides in the windy city of Chicago with her husband and bullmastiff.

VP - West Coast Operation

 

Quang is a retired career public service official. He had served in Vietnam, Idaho, and Washington State. A professional trained in both Vietnamese and American institutions (Dai-Hoc Saigon, University of Michigan (UM), Washington State University (WSU).

 

Quang has been involved in the organization and administration of various state, national programs and international projects (WHO, USAID), in public health education, family support, and community organization.

Treasurer

 

Julie’s biggest passion is to support and work with the disadvantaged and disabled.  She believes in helping others who are not fortunate by giving.

 

Julie is a Senior Software Engineer who joined U.S. Department of Agriculture in January 1999 after working in the private sector for companies including AOL, SIGNAL Corporation, and Norrell Information Services.

 

Julie graduated from Maryland University with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  A resident of Fairfax, Virginia, Julie is married and has four children.

Secretary

 

Nhan lives in Sugar Land, Texas with the support and comfort of her husband and two grown up sons.

She has been active with Maison Chance since 2008 when the fund raising event for
the MC Village took place. She also dedicates her time volunteering for numerous Vietnamese
communities in the greater Houston area. Her passionate commitment in helping the unfortunate people and orphans of Vietnam takes priority over her work.

Nhan is a Senior Software Engineer and holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics from University of Washington.

Cam-Hong Hoang

Assistant Secretary

 

Cam Hong graduated with B.S. majoring in Human Development at University of California, Davis. She resides in Elk Grove, California where she lives with her beloved husband and two children. With her love towards children, Cam Hong initiated the Home Preschool Program, where she is currently teaching bilingual children (English & Vietnamese) in the age ranged from 2 to 5, preparing for them to enter kindergarten.


She is also tutoring the primary pupils in helping them with their homework after school. Besides her daily work, Cam Hong likes to participate in musical activities of Vietnamese community in Sacramento. Cam Hong's dream is being able to open a center for teenagers where they can participate in activities during their spare time.

Ly Thi Bich Tram

Administrative Assistant

 

Born into a poor family in the countryside, Bich Tram is the second oldest in a family of 4 girls. When she was six years old, her father sustained a spinal injury which paralyzed half of his body and her mother left the family. She was raised and live at Maison Chance for the last 13 years and finished her high school with distinction.


She was selected to be the first student to pursue a college degree in the US under a scholarship of Maison Chance USA. After graduation she is expected to return to Vietnam and work for Maison Chance in administration and health management.

Michael C. Davies

Webmaster

 

Michael is an artist and website designer living in Seattle, Washington. He also does some maintenance work for a high rise condominium building in downtown Seattle.


Since 2008, he has been involved with Maison Chance helping with the website. He has volunteered his time with several fundraising events in Seattle. Prior to working with Maison Chance he did some volunteer work with Community Service Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Seattle.

 

He has traveled to Vietnam on several occasions and visited with the people at Maison Chance. He hopes to make many more visits in the future and help those in need.


He holds an AAS degree in Network Administrations and has a diploma from the Art Institute of Seattle.
